"Why are you so quiet?"
|
If you've had many people say these things to you before, chances are, you're an introvert, and almost never are these things said in a positive way. Throughout my life, I’ve come to observe that the qualities associated with extroversion are often preferred and seen as more likable than those of an introvert. For example, being outgoing and talkative are seen as positive characteristics while being quiet and reserved are seen as negative characteristics. Because of this, people tend to misunderstand introverts and may mistake their quiet nature as being rude or antisocial. The truth is, introverts aren’t unsociable, we just socialize differently.

"INTROVERTED individuals prefer solitary activities and get exhausted by social interaction. They tend to be quite sensitive to external stimulation (e.g. sound, sight or smell) in general."

"EXTROVERTED individuals prefer group activities and get energized by social interaction. They tend to be more enthusiastic and more easily excited than introverts" and they show it more too.
